Summary: MSI installation reports "interrupted installation"
Product: Apache httpd-2
Version: 2.2.15
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows XP
Status: NEW
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: Win32 MSI Installer
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
Further to Bug 26938, the problem is not yet fixed.
If the host on which installation is attempted has any network connections
which are not listed in the hosts file, then the installation fails with
"interrupted installation".
This message is misleading, as the cause is nothing to do with an interrupted
installation.
Please can the error message be fixed?
Better still, the installation process should prompt the user for the local
hostname if it cannot work it out itself.
If there are several active network connections, it could display a list and
ask the user to choose which one to use.
I'm happy to test any proposed fixes.
