In a nutshell, in standard Apache distribution, proxy functionality (CONNECT
request) does not work when connecting via HTTPS. Some people argue this is by
design, because it is not in the RFC. Other people say this is useful and not
prohibited by the RFC, so it should be included.

Current status quo is that this feature is not in the Apache trunk, and if
someone needs it, they have to apply a patch to their version of Apache, or
port a patch from an older version.

I believe that if this feature is included in the trunk, it would be THE GOOD
THING. I will make the server more useful and will alleviate the need for
patches, thus improving security and stability.
