This seems to be an issue related to proc_mutex's pool lifetime, which is addressed there. It runs since one year now in production systems (Linux only though, not Solaris), no problem so far. The caveat is that (graceful-)restarts leak a mmaped (pthread_)mutex should it not be used anymore (the process pool is never cleared).
