Please provide the log entries from the error log with log level trace8 for a
request that does not behave as you expect how it behaves and what you expect
it to behave.
BTW: I have trouble to understand what RewriteRule ^(.*)$ [R=301,L] is expected
to do as there is no second argument between the regular expression and the
flags.
