I did some research. On FreeBSD the driver works perfectly. (it was ported from FreeBSD) It does report incorrectly gigabit on OpenBSD FreeBSD commited a patch for this issue. http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/src/sys/dev/alc/if_alc.c.diff?r1=1.4;r2=1.5;f=h (Thanks for [email protected] for this one) The FreeBSD 9-current dmesg is included in the mail. I also included a dmesg with the alc debug enabled. Doesn't say much but may be useful. I tried to start modifying the driver myself, but my kernel foo is too light to anything except just randomly changing stuff.
