The machine was stable for the time it ran (5h), but obviously the NVRAM
battery is dead. I've managed to fry the nvram with a lab power supply
despite connecting everything correctly (suspect a voltage spike from
the crappy supply). A new part is on its way from Hongkong. I can
probably say more about its stability under stress in a week or so.
