Hi together,

so some updates to this issue, after disabling the ppb_hotplug_remove()
function, I could prevent the kernel panic. Now I can see that em1 dies.
After a ifconfig down/up I get the following message:

em1: The EEPROM Checksum Is Not Valid
em1: Unable to initialize the hardware

Any ideas, why this could happen? How can I debug this deeper?
At the moment I have done a pcidump -xxx on a good state and would
repeat this if the network dies the next time.

I also activate "ifconfig em1 debug". Could it be a driver bug or maybe
a hardware failure? Some strange power saving failure? At the moment it
could be anything I know ;-)

nice regards,

Sebastian
