Did you try "# cdio blank" first?
Apologies to the list for being stupid. The drive that was given to me is NOT
a burner.
I will go hide my head in the sand for a while.
Not to excuse my stupidity, but since I have arrived here... I might as
well request / suggest to one of the developers if there was a way to
display a better error message along the lines of "Your drive does not
support recording" or some such.
