if your /etc/hostname.if file looks like that:

nwid "this is my ssid"
wpakey thisimywpakey
dhcp

the automatic-network-configuration of the upgrade script in bsd.rd will fail to properly configure the interface.

The wifi if will end up having "this is my ssid" as nwid instead of "this is my ssid"... The second space inserted between "this" and "is" will screw the wpakey.

The problem is the following line from enable_network() of file install.sub:

cmd="ifconfig $if $af $alias $name "

Removing the extra space after $name fixes the problem for me.

It looks like the problem is already fixed in /etc/netstart.
