With ddb.console=1, if you send a BREAK signal on the serial console
it should force the system to enter ddb. This is done with ~# in cu,
though it does not work with every type of serial port, in particular
some USB RS232 adapters e.g. uark.

Check that this works when the system is operating normally (you can
"c" to continue).  Then try and do it again when the system hangs,
if this works then get the output of at least these:

sh bcstats
sh reg
