Bob: I think that's sensible; I did not know the mirrors were sanctioned,
and so believed linking to the torrent sites would be equivalent in that
sense.

Theo: I have not expressed the suggestion ideally, I think. It was not a
suggestion for my benefit, I do not use torrents, but for the benefit of
your audience generally. Also, sanctioning torrents gives users a way to
contribute back to the project by seeding/mirroring. This would reduce load
on OpenBSD mirrors, and it has a positive impact on contributors: those who
invest their own resources will view the project in a better light and are
substantially more likely to escalate their efforts to greater
contributions. Although I failed to couch it adequately, arguably my
suggestion is of the "do more ... to help yourself" variety.

Perhaps in future a more constructive frankness, to those who take the time
to write suggestions about ways to improve the OpenBSD efforts, could be to
identify areas needing work, ask for assistance, or offer a way to
contribute (on the proposed "do more" suggestion or in other areas where
you are feeling tapped).

In any case, I leave it in your good hands.

Cheers
