Hi Miod -- sorry, I can’t spare the hardware for 5.4 reinstall to get you a
dmesg just yet. I did confirm that on 5.6, ps axk does show a kernel thread for
onewire (29568 ?? DK 0:00.14 (onewire0)). I recompiled GENERIC.MP with
ONEWIRE_DEBUG; here is the new dmesg, including a onewire error, which is
continuously output:

Can you share a 5.4 dmesg if you still have any?

Does `ps axk' show the `(onewire0)' kernel thread? Is it slepping on the
`owidle' wchan?

Can you recompile a kernel with `option ONEWIRE_DEBUG' and share the
messages it produces?

TIA,
Miod
