Volume Up/Down are separate buttons at the front of the laptop - not Fn-activated keys in the F-keys row. There's also a physical mute button just left of those two - this one seems to be working fine (hardware, rather than software I presume). > Press the volume, brightness, display switch and see if anything > pops-up in your dmesg. Brightness is indeed in the F-key row and it is Fn-key activated but the last time I tried, it wasn't working at all - haven't been bothered about it so hadn't reported it.
