>Synopsis: Console flooded with "scsci_xfer pool exhausted!" after some
>uptime. Machine not responding
>Category: system kernel amd64
>Environment:
System : OpenBSD 5.8
Details : OpenBSD 5.8-beta (GENERIC) #1075: Fri Jul 10 06:30:44 MDT
2015
[email protected]:/usr/src/sys/arch/amd64/compile/GENERIC
Architecture: OpenBSD.amd64
Machine : amd64
>Description:
The machine runs on Vultr.com KVM hosting. After a couple of days of
uptime, the machine stops responding. Viewing the console of the VM shows a
flood of "scsci_xfer pool exhausted!"
The machine is primarily a OpenSMTPD/Cyrus IMAPD mail server for
personal use (little traffic), but also runs a seldomy used OpenVPN server for
my own use. In addition to that backup are taken nightly using Attic
(https://attic-backup.org) .
This also occurred on 5.8-beta snapshot from middle of May (don't
remember exact snapshot)
>How-To-Repeat:
Add
Seem to be more related to uptime than actual activity.
