If a carp system is up and running and you configure an ipv6 address
which is already configured then the carp state will change to INIT.
>How-To-Repeat:
The first time i stumbled upon this problem was on a system with
OpenBSD 5.9 after i returned from singleuser to multiuser. I used
'shutdown now' to enter singleuser and ^D to return to multiuser.
But you can just run 'sh /etc/netstart' by hand on a running carp
system with ipv6 configured. All carp interfaces with ipv6 configured
will be in the INIT state afterwards.
I also reproduced this bug on my notebook, using a bridge, two vether
interfaces and ontop of them carp. carp it self was not working
properly (every interface was in state MASTER), but i was able to
reproduce the behavior described above.
>Fix:
As a workaround you can just use 'ifconfig <if> up' or put 'up' in your
hostname.if(5) after the ip addresses.
The Following diff fixes the problem for me, but im not sure if this is
the right place to fix the problem...:
