I compiled a new kernel to test one unrelated informational patch and I
am running with that kernel now. So far no problems but it might still
be too early to say for sure. I will keep the system running and let you
know if anything further happens.

One other problem that I noticed also disappeared. I have been receiving
incorrect battery levels which also started about the same time as the
acpitz(4) issues. I have the 72 WHr additional extended battery as well
as the built-in one for my X260 and I was seeing 50 percent and then 7
or 8 percent battery levels reported when I know the battery is fully
charged. This problem seems to have completely disappeared as well and
my batteries are showing fully charged again. Throughout these incorrect
readings my system has been plugged into power. Could this perhaps be
related to the acpiec(4) patch as well?
