If I either upgrade or do a fresh install of 6.2 all appears to be going fine until the 'reboot' stage. The bootloader starts and then spools the usual list of info to the screen. After about a page and a half, the screen blanks and the system will respond to nothing.

The only way to recover is with a hardware reset or power-down. At next power-up, the motherboard has a dual-bios facility that then resets to its safe-bios version. I can then 'upgrade' back to 6.1 or do a fresh install.

All installs are i386 from USB using install.fs with SHA256 checked.

I have been using OpenBSD since version 3.2. Occasionally I have come across incompatible hardware though the next version usually fixes it. This is the first time that a new version fails where an old verion is good.

I think this problem is not something I can fix without help but I would appreciate some ideas. Should I just continue using 6.1 and hope it gets fixed in 6.3?

Barnaby.
