We added that symbol to libc _so_that_ it could be referenced by libcrypto.
So what version of libc is the program reporting that, apparently
login_ldap, using as reported by ldd?
What's the output of
nm /path/to/the/reported/libc.so | grep pthread_once ?
(The list of packages you updated didn't make it to bugs@ afaict, so I'll
say that login_ldap should have been on the list and IMHO updating them
*all* with "pkg_add -u" is the only sane option.)
