Hi,when I installed Openbsd 6.7 in a laptop with a AMD processor (A10-9600p) the temperature was very high (67 C) with idle activity. The command vmstat showed nothing strange, the typical one for a idle computer but the temperature was very high and the fans made a lot of noise. Well, the OpenBSD 6.6 version worked correctly in the same laptop so I compared the dmesg between both versions and I found that in OpenBSD 6.7 dmesg show me the ram SO-DIMMS. In OpenBSD 6.6 this information was not in dmesg. So i disabled the piixmp driver (with config -e -f /bsd) and booted the laptop. The problem disappeared. The temperature now is normal (about 40 C with 25 C room temperature) and the fans are quiet.
It is possible that other emails in [email protected] may be related to this problem. By example the mail with subject "Some bugs." with date 2020-06-11.
