- Try uninstalling intel-firwmare and see if that changes anything. - Try installing the bootloader from the May 29 snapshot with new kernel/userland (untar ./usr/mdec from old base67.tgz and run "installboot sd0") and see if that changes anything. (with/without intel-firmware). - Is there any difference in kernel boot messages between the two?
