>Description:
As of a recent snapshot, Chromium's navbar suggestions have started
flickering only at the top-left corner of the screen. This happens
often (nearly every time a URL is typed into the navbar). When this
occurs, most of the navbar's autocomplete suggestion lines are still
visible, but a portion of it -- always at the top left -- disappears
showing the webpage behind the navbar suggestions through a small
jagged window, and graphical artifacts (boxes, etc.) appear and jump
around every second or so in that space even when no further input is
given.
After resizing the window in cwm, I found that the problem occurred
less often, but pressing the "down" arrow to select a different
autocomplete result or selecting the full URL with Ctrl+L will
sometimes cause a similar issue where the navbar autocomplete
suggestion UI disappears for a second, then reappears on its own.
This happens on any website, even on the new tab page. I have checked
for GPU acceleration options in Chromium flags, but none have helped.
>How-To-Repeat:
It cannot be replicated every time, but these are the steps to follow;
they may need to be repeated several times to see the behavior:
1. Type a letter into the navbar such that several autocomplete
suggestions are offered in the UI that appears below the navbar.
2. Scroll through those options using up/down arrows. You may see
the UI flicker at the top left of the suggestions.
3. If you do not see the top left UI flicker, then type a different
letter and repeat until it becomes visible. On my end, this occurs
every 5 or 6 attempts.
