This doesn't crash when I run it in `kitty' or when I run it on remote
host with xterm.

- crash
  - start xenodm
  - run `telnet mapscii.me` in kitty
  - doesn't crash

  - ssh to remote in xterm
  - run `telnet mapscii.me`
  - doesn't crash
