I do not agree with this because it makes no sense to answer a NOTIFICATION with a NOTIFICATION. I think the RFC is a bit sloppy on this particular point. Also note that section 4.5 has this: 4.5. NOTIFICATION Message Format A NOTIFICATION message is sent when an error condition is detected. The BGP connection is closed immediately after it is sent. So the connection should be closed immediatly and there is no way to send back a NOTIFICATION. In this regard your test is not following the RFC as well. Regards -- :wq Claudio
