Hey, latest snapshot seems to be working on my machine (StarLite MkIV)
that experienced the same issue. Could you confirm that this has been
fixed on your hardware as well?
Confirmed, late last night's snap worked for me as well. Did both an
upgrade and a clean install to verify no old "fixes" were laying around.
On this machine, the trackpad is not functional in X, but that was true
of the 7.1-release as well, I think. Different "problem".
