Unfortunately, I can tell you exactly which snapshot the issue came
with, since lately I've been using cwm(1), it was today that I changed
back to fvwm2 that I found the problem.

The only I can tell you for sure is that under this snapshot:

(while helping Matthieu Herrb to solve some X and fvwm2 related issue)
this problem wasn't there.
