those should be fine. it only affects the original pre-westmere (eg, only
nehalem) cpus.

Thanks for the info. I never thought that this problem is affected by "Perhaps what 
you are sending in is a feature request, not necessarily a bug." I was so sure. I 
guess i'll consider updating the machine.
