Amar Takhar created an issue:
https://gitlab.rtems.org/administration/gitlab/-/issues/118

We've had several discussions about this but we are at a point where we need to
make a statement for the project on how we want to handle AI contributions.

This issue is to decide on that policy and what we're going to do.

On todays meeting we discussed the following items:

1. Add the Linux Foundation statement to our website (snapshot) and link to
theirs (in case they change it)
   * https://www.linuxfoundation.org/legal/generative-ai
2. Statements made by the contributor
   * Prompt used
   * Which AI model was used
   * How AI was used for the contribution
     * Formatting
     * Test creation
     * Code comments
     * The entire contribution
     * .. etc, this list is not comprehensive
   * They have not used a product that claims copyright and they have
legitimate access to the AI they are using.
3. State that the submitter needs to demonstrate an understanding of the code
being submitted so they can answer questions. If they do not know then they
should not open an MR.

By default if there is no statement then it's assumed the code is not made by
AI. We can in our template have:

* `AI Used: No`

If someone has used AI the template can request the details !#2 above.

The project wishes on some level to engage but we also have to protect our
users in case copyright becomes an issue in the future. This is part of our
due diligence
