As briefly discussed in DM on Discord, I would like to get the core DHRL API 
working and then begin to add speed enhancements. The API does work as 
intended, although perhaps not as fast as possible. I've added 
https://gitlab.rtems.org/rtems/rtos/rtems/-/issues/5582 to track this work.
