Vijay Banerjee commented on a discussion: https://gitlab.rtems.org/rtems/pkg/rtems-libbsd/-/merge_requests/168#note_160948 The qoriq/MVME2500 case is slightly different from other vme boards in this regard, because the qoriq board requires the libbsd PCIe support for the VME to work (See https://gitlab.rtems.org/rtems/rtos/rtems/-/commit/55a1b9accdedec5e79cda935ad4c51a592b0ba8f). Other mvme boards have these symbols mentioned in their respective RTEMS BSPs instead of libbsd. This vme compat layer is only used by the qoriq. The symbol I am adding in this patch is the one EPICS is familiar with, and using that as a wrapper to the libbsd's implementation adds a lot less code to achieve the goal. The alternative would be port a lot of the libbsd's qoriq vme support to the rtems repository instead of making it dependent on libbsd. As of now, libbsd is required for qoriq to use vme. -- View it on GitLab: https://gitlab.rtems.org/rtems/pkg/rtems-libbsd/-/merge_requests/168#note_160948 You're receiving this email because of your account on gitlab.rtems.org.
