It looks to me that these are still building and passing tests
successfully, but the builds get marked as a failure because they time
out after 300 minutes when creating the distribution.
Perhaps we should move the `make install` step to a separate job so that
CI builds stick to compilation / unit tests. Otherwise I feel these
failures will continue to be ignored.
Also, is it possible to allocate faster machines for these builds? On
(new, but reasonable) consumer grade hardware I have, I can do a whole
Linux build and test past in just under an hour, not _five_ hours.
