Well, here is an updated version (3.0) of my HHS FAQ
analysis, which includes the material issued on 07/01/2001 and
07/07/2001. As of late today, those were still the most recent materials
on the HHS Admin Simp web site.
As usual, it is in MS Word 97 format. It now runs to
44 pages.
This particular update took several times longer to produce
than the original. Maybe I'm just getting slower, but I also
revisited every item, updated many of the white paper mappings, and added or
expanded many of my "Z-Notes" to identify answers that seem at least a little
problematic. I would appreciate some feedback on these items, especially
some suggestions for alternate language where there is an apparent
problem.
I am copying the change list from the Introduction into this
message:
Version 3.0 Changes
I changed the page heading and footing as needed to show date and version
information.
I edited the "Introduction" to indicate that changes through 08/13/2001
were now the baseline, and added White Paper Codes for the Code Sets and
Implementation Guide Choice White Papers.
I replaced the "Questions Submitted by the Public" introductory page with a
copy of the latest page from the HHS web site, and annotated it slightly.
I added new Q&A date groups for 06/04/2001, 07/01/2001, and
07/07/2001.
I annotated other sections as needed to show where a later FAQ or Q&A
presumably superceded a previous one, and deleted the final "Withdrawn FAQs"
section.
I added many "Z-Notes" to indicate where an item may be incorrect or
outdated. This includes several items that mention "HCFA" or its expansion
[mynorca?], including mentions of "HCPCS" and the "HCFA-1500". .Hope
this helps someone!
