Mario, THANKS! I am excited about the discussions that we had on the call.
Your concerns are the same concerns that others shared on the call and the reason for the FAQ was to draft a complete and concise question so that we can get a detailed answer that would alleviate the "fudge factor" of any answers composed by DHHS in the definitions of the specific uses of the implementation guides. We definitely will be submitting the FAQ(s) to the listserv for all to comment on. Thanks! Just a note: WEDi/SNIP will be providing this group with its own listserv. In the next few weeks we will be transitioning to that separate listserv. For those who were registered with the yahoo groups listserv as of 10/16/2001, will be automatically registered under the new listserv for this group. I have been told that as far as the group could surmise the 837 Institutional was developed basically to accommodate inpatient hospital services and residential facilities. Of course, as you know, the transaction will be utilized by many States for other institutional-related services and any FAQ has to be worded very carefully. I don't know the status of the FAQ to be submitted and whether you will be sharing it with the workgroup via the listserv.
