Does anybody know if the NTE segment in the 2400 loop of the 837I was left out by mistake or is the note under the CLAIM NOTE (2300 loop) which says "Information in the NTE segment in Loop ID-2300 applies to the entire claim unless overridden by information in the NTE segment in Loop ID-2400." ? If the NTE segment was left out of the 2400 by mistake, I would assume it would be compliant to use an NTE segment in the 2400 loop. But if the note under CLAIM NOTE was put there by error, does this mean that notes at the claim level apply without exception to the related service lines or is there a workaround?
