Aloha!
A simple suggestion: Anyone posting a message to this
listserv that includes an attachment should include sufficient information in
both their subject line and the associated message body to make it completely
clear that they are intentionally sending that specific attachment. Given
the nature of some of the recent viruses/worms/etc., some of which send
attachments gleaned from your own system, I have learned to delete any message
with an attachment the purpose of which isn't made clear within the
associated message, regardless of whom it is from.
To put it simply, we can't afford to open attachments just to
find out why they are there anymore. And, as many of you know, I loves dem
attachments! I just need to survive the evil-minded kind.
It would also be very helpful if messages
that include drafts of our White Papers be named accordingly in their "Subject"
line. I'm probably not the only one who has spent a lot of time opening
every message that I have received with an attachment during the last three
months just to see which one of them included the latest version of the XYZ
White Paper. An especially good subject line in such cases would be
"XYZ White Paper as of mm/dd/yyyy".
Mahalo (Thanks)!
