MUST HAVE:
- VISUAL BASIC 6.0
- j2ee / Web Technologies
- SQL SERVER development experience
- VB Scripting
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Expert in Visual Basic and SQL Server application development
Technical analysis and documentation of existing solutions.
Identification of problem areas and documenting improvement
recommendations. Design, implementation and testing of improvements
Ability to communicate findings and work efforts with technical and
non-technical audiences across organizational boundaries
Ability to troubleshoot and efficiently resolve issues as necessary
Conduct all work in compliance with established PNC G.I.S.
development methodologies, Technical Design Standards, and data security
policies
Assume technical ownership on projects as necessary
Other projects and Tasks as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 3 + years of Visual Basic application development experience
Minimum 3 + years of SQL Server development experience
VB 6 Migration planning experience
5+ years of application development experience – full life cycle
development experience
Windows batch development, VB Script experience
Efficient time management, task estimating, strong communication and
interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast paced
environment
Detail oriented with a thorough and systematic approach to problem
solving
Trustworthy, reliable, integrity, and willingness to be accountable
Extremely motivated to learn and create new and efficient processes
Desire to be a self-starter without full time supervision
BS in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or other equivalent
academic background
OTHER DESIRABLE SKILLS:
Internet Application development and integration experience for web
site infrastructures and n-tier data warehouses
Experience with object oriented methodologies
J2EE/Web Technologies – 5+ years of extensive hands-on experience,
including Java, JSP, EJB, JavaScript, Servlets, JMS, JDBC, STRUTS, HTML,
DHTML, XML, Hibernate
Java Methodologies – J2EE design patterns, Object Oriented Analysis
and Design, Struts Framework
Experience managing web services in a remote server farm
environment.
TECHNOLOGY COMPETENCIES:
Development Applications:
Required: Visual Basic, Java, J2EE
Preferred: VB.Net or C#, ASP.Net , ADO.Net
Operating Systems/Servers:
Required: NT 4.0, Windows 2000, IIS, Transaction Server, COM+
Preferred: ASP.Net
Scripting Languages/Tools:
Required: VB Script, Source Safe
Preferred: Visual Interdev, ADO.Net, ASP, ADO, JavaScript, X
