The Analyst should have strong statistical analysis capabilities. The Analyst should be able to demonstrate their analysis process and thought process and have extensive experience presenting data findings. The candidate should have strong business background as well. Job Description: The Business Data Analyst will be involved with back-end processing of large amounts of data. This is scenario based, linking transactions, deriving information from those links. The analysts are given guidance, high level scenarios, and then they need to roll up their sleeves and present ideas and findings. After interfacing with the users (Lawyers), they help users translate what they need in business terms and taking requirements to development team. They need to get down and dirty with the data in order to do this. They are working with users who don't have extensive data knowledge, so the analysts need to go into the database, look at the data to see if it can be linked. The discovery of the requirements is a collaborative effort. Requirements are documented in a formal requirements document. Most of the BA's use TOAD and SQL to get data because they are not programming. They then need to present their findings. They are working with transactional data. Required Skills: Business Analyst with Analytical ability, SQL data queries, SQL data researcher and data analysis. Must be a self-starter, who can work independently. Formal SDLC methods, formal requirements process.
