NOTE: NEED Consultants ONLY LOCAL TO CA OR NEED TO COME FOR F-F INTERVIEW[2nd Round] on OWN EXPENSES Description: Position Summary GENERAL SUMMARY: The Black box Sr. QA Engineer for Platform Engineering defines and implements black-box testing procedures and test cases for Platform components. He/She demonstrates eagerness to test various core platform level API and frameworks. He/ She initiates and contributes to automated testing suites for regression testing core technologies, products and web-based applications. Position Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Project Planning & Testing • Participate in all the design and implementation processes for new and existing platform technologies • Define and design black-box, gray-box and white-box and automated testing suites for core technologies, products and web-based applications o execute and maintain testing frameworks and test suites o execute and maintain test programs (Core Java and J2EE) for both API and System levels o execute and maintain test automation scripts where applicable o execute and maintain Functional, Integration and Regression tests for new and existing frameworks and applications • Provide QA estimation (LOE) for new projects • Participate in review and approval processes for project deliverables • Advise project teams on tools and processes to build testable deliverables • Develop Test Strategy and Test Plan for each new project • Work with the application developers to generate and maintain test data • Assist project teams on identifying the needs of test environments and coordinate the implementation of these environments as applicable • Ensure that Criteria for Entry and Exit for each Gates are met per QA Life Cycle • Oversee processes for identifying, tracking and reporting the results of testing per QA Life Cycle • Responsible for finding, tracking and prioritizing bugs and driving them toward resolution • Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defect densities, code coverage and open defect counts 2. Production Support • Participate in the testing of Production Emergency Bug Fixes • Develop/modify test cases for new emergency bug fixes (if applicable) • Must be available for rotating on-call support duties, and periodically participate in after-hours release testing • Participate in release production validation (if required) Minimum Qualifications Functional Competencies: • Good Knowledge of Java (SE and EE) technologies, SOA, XML and HTML required. • Experience with MVC architecture and distributed computing not necessary but appreciated • Complete and thorough knowledge of the SDLC and various testing methodologies • Expert knowledge of JUnit, TestNG, JMeter, Selenium and related testing frameworks • Working knowledge of relational databases specifically Oracle and MySQL • Experience with multi-tiered architecture required • Experience with caching frameworks like Terracotta, JCache, Cache4j etc. will be added plus • Experience with Linux and Solaris required Experience: • Must have at least 8+ years of QA experience with mostly Black box testing experience in a commercial software/Internet/eCommerce company • Must have experience in unit testing, functional testing and regression testing using appropriate methodologies • At least 5 years of experience testing software at API or framework level (white box testing) • Experience in writing Java code using J2SE, J2EE and web services frameworks • Experience in scripting Bash Shell, Python or Perl scripts to automate testing tasks • Experience using Oracle database • Experience with MySQL database not required but desirable • Experience with automated testing tools • Experience in developing tools/scripts to aid in testing client/ server and Web applications • Experience in working with offshore teams Minimum educational level: • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent Physical Requirements: • Must be available for rotating on-call support duties, and to periodically participate in after-hours release testing -- Sreedhar ERP and ERP Corp 48521 Warm Springs Blvd , Suite 307A, Fremont, CA 94539.
