Position: QA Tester II Location: Houston TX Duration: 3 + months (good possibility of going long term) Position: QA - Tester II Summary: Experienced QA professional that is skilled in script development, testing methods, automated tools, issue/defect analysis and reporting. QA Testers are responsible for performing various types of testing such as: - Regression, compatibility, functional, system integration and interface 4+ years of creating and executing manual and automated test scripts. Duties and Requirements As part of the QA staff, you will be working with a group of dedicated individuals responsibly to: * Execute manual and automated testing of applications, web UI's and interfaces. * Review functional and technical documentation and identify requirements for the creation of test plans, test cases and test scripts. * Analyze test results, identify issues and report root causes for failures/defects. * Document, track and validate defects in a tracking system. * Assist Developers and technical support staff in identifying and resolving problems. * Work with deployment teams and perform QA testing typically after/before core hours. * Make recommendations to improve product reliability, performance, and quality assurance. * Manage tasks according to prescribed project priorities. * Work well with Release Managers, Infrastructure and Development teams. Skills and Experience * Functional Testing tools such as Quality Center, QTP, RQM and/or RFT * Experience with formal development and testing methododoly * Able to create complex scripts and develop data tables. * Familiar with Java or .Net, C# programming Personal Attributes * Excellent written, oral, listening and interpersonal communication skills. * Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and business verbiage. * Ability to research application/code issues and interfaces. * Highly self-motivated, self directed and pays attention to detail. * Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
