*Job Title: Java Application Architect* *Location: Jersey City, New Jersey Duration:6+ Months contract with extensions* EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: · 5+ years hands on Java development experience with proven track record. · Experience on WebSphere Process Server, BPEL and WID · 2 to 3 years prior experience as a hands-on, Sr. Architect responsible for design and development (coding) of at least two successful development projects for high performance, high availability, secure OLTP Java/J2EE applications using Websphere Process Server V6.0.2 and WAS , V6.0, V6.1. · 2 to 3 years as technical team lead with technical supervisory responsibility for team of at least 5 Mid- to Senior Java/J2EE Developers. · 3+ years Java and J2EE design patterns. · Knowledge of data modeling and strong knowledge of SQL programming and query tuning · 5+ years experience in design and development of Internet/intranet, Java applications. · Experience with Websphere business modeler, Websphere Integration Developer [WID], Rational Application Developer, Rational Software Architect. · 5+ years experience developing in Java, Javascript, Ajax, J2EE, XML, EJB, Struts, Spring, JMS, MQ, Log4j, J-unit, and LDAP · 2+ years experience developing in Hibernate and Oracle based Java programming · 2+ years experiences in build and deploy using CVS, Ant, (Jacl/jython a plus) · Knowledge with full development life cycle and procedure for deployment and promotion · Strong communicator, fluent in English, in speech and in writing. · Excellent problem solving and communication skills. Ability to mentor developers in best practices for application design. · Strong team leadership and client-facing skills. Able to stabilize and manage requirements. Description: . POSITION DESCRIPTION: We currently have a vacancy for a hands-on Sr. Application Architect for our Bank IT Development Department in our Jersey City, NJ office. The successful candidate will be responsible for design, development, deployment and implementation of large scale Java/J2EE based applications built with Struts, Hibernate, Websphere Application Server, Websphere Process Server, Websphere MQ and Oracle 10/11. Working within a team, the person in this role will oversee offshore development and ensure that development is aligned to the overall design, adheres to best practices, guidelines, standards and is delivered in timely manner. A significant focus will be applied to application performance and ensuring the delivered solution is highly efficient and scalable. Preference will be given to candidates with strong Websphere Process Server and business process orchestration skills. Strong database skills including database design, strong SQL skills and experience in optimizing Hibernate to work with database in a most efficient way. This challenging role will be initially for a six month fixed term contract and will provide the right candidate with an opportunity to expand their business knowledge by working with complex financial and technological instruments in a friendly and fast-paced environment.
