The database administrator must have a solid background supporting SQL Server and Oracle databases. This position requires an individual to be proficient in SQL and has the ability to diagnose and tune database systems. Specific duties and responsibilities of this position include: · Coordinate the activities related to database installation and configuration. · Create, maintain, and administer SQL Server databases. · Provide support for Oracle 10g and 11g databases. · Manage database security, database objects, and manage users. Also manage back up and tablespaces. · Troubleshoot database related issues, provide backup and data recovery services. · Ensure performance optimization and tuning. · Experience in building and supporting SQL partitions · Experience in SQL Server 2012 · Clone or duplicate database to test and develop environments. Complete data transfers (DTS and SSIS packages) and replication management. · A minimum of 6+ years experience in database administration or development in Oracle and SQL server is required. · Experience working in an Oracle version10g and 11g environment and Sql Server 2000/2005/2008R2 is essential. · Experience in managing and tuning large volume Oracle databases and experience in UNIX (HP-UX preferred) · Linux and windows 2003 and 2008 environments are required. · Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery process/scenarios is desired. · Experience with installation, configuration management, and security procedures and Active Directory integration experience is a plus. · Training and experience on Oracle 9i, 10g and 11g Database Administration as well as SQL Server 2000/2005/2008R2 Administration is required. · Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or related field) is preferred, equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
