Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities: • Implementing, testing, maintaining and supporting software, based on technical design specifications • Preparing technical design specifications based on functional requirements and analysis documents • Implementing BI development best practices • Reviewing functional requirements, analysis and design documents and provide feedback • Assisting customer support with technical problems and questions • Assisting other BI development staff *Work experience* • Cognos 10, candidate must have previous experience with Cognos 10 • 5+ years’ experience with Cognos Framework Manager required • Experience modeling relational, DMR and Dynamic Cube projects • 5 years minimum experience in BI development required • 5+ years’ experience developing complex and dimensional reports in Report Studio required • Experience with version control (Source Safe, SVN, etc.) preferred • Experience using automated development tools such as Motio PI is preferred • Experience tuning report performance using SQL analysis and database tools required • Experience with Cognos Administration required including security design, implementation and deployment • Experience implementing n-tiered, distributed systems across different Hardware/Operating System platforms required *Specialized Knowledge & Skills:* • Understanding of logical and physical database models • Ability to quickly analyze, organize, and abstract large amounts of information and to make decisions based on this analysis • Relational database experience with Oracle is required and experience with DB2 or MS SQL Server is preferred • Strong analysis and design skills required • Awareness of business issues as they impact overall project plans • Ability to influence and negotiate when faced with opposing views or resistance • Strong attention to detail required • Strong SQL skills • Excellent communication skills • Must possess and exhibit emotional stability and maturity in the face of stressful situations • Must be results oriented, customer focused and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously • Must be willing to take ownership of tasks, seek out necessary input and drive to completion *Position Requirments* *Test Analyst to work in a long term TEMP capacity at our Sarasota office.* We are interested in candidates that are proficient in provision to assist in creating test cases and test execution; to provide functional domain knowledge for the Income Tax Provision product; To ensure quality customer releases. In this role you will assist the Test Analyst Manager and other Test Analysts on various test documentation, product related issues, issues/improvements related to test documentation, Product quality assessment and monitoring, and their recommendations for improvement. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities: • Other functions may be assigned and management retains the right to add or change the duties at any time. • Development of functional test cases per project/product based on documented requirements. • Execution of test cases, both manual and automated. • Maintenance of the test cases library per product/feature set/test type; Monitoring of the requirements/product changes; Updates to the test cases according to the approved changes; Updates to the test cases based on results of their execution. • Verification of the requirements/tests traceability and coverage. • Assessment/evaluation of Change Requests/defects and their impact on the system. • Development of new test cases for Change Requests. • Developing, gathering and managing test data. • Analysis of test results. • Evaluation of the outcome of each test cycle. • Interacting with other group members and cross functional team members. • Assisting in setting testing deadlines and scope, and review of testing deliverables. • Providing feedback to ensure quality updates are made to the product. • Collaborating with other departments, contributing time, effort and ideas. *Work Experience:* • Experience in the provision process, preparing and updating provision schedules and working with current and deferred tax expense and liability • Experience with income tax software solutions is preferred. *Specialized Knowledge & Skills:* • Finance, accounting, or tax background strongly desired. • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle including test planning, identifying quality risks, developing and executing tests, and providing quality assessments a plus. • Experience in business financial processes, such as general ledger systems, a plus. • Understanding of Quality Assurance. • Must have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Good troubleshooting skills. • Strong attention to detail required. • Good time-management skills. Ability to multi-task or work on multiple projects concurrently. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; strong team player. • Proficient PC skills required.
