*Role: DB2 DBA*

*Location: Tucson, AZ*

*Duration: 12+ Months Contract*



*Job Description*: Under limited supervision, performs DB2 Database
Administration (DBA) duties.  DBA duties include, but not limited to:
creating tables, creating indexes, running backups, running restores,
running reorgs, granting/revoking access, unloading data and monitoring
performance. Must be competent to work independently in most phases of
database maintenance and administration. Efficiently solves problems such
as identifying inconsistencies and/or redundancies and effectively manages
multiple tasks to accomplish goals and meet deadlines. Provides
consultation on complex projects.



*Job Responsibilities*:

·                     Perform database administration duties, such as
creating tables, creating indexes, loading data, running backups and
running restores.

·                     Assist other members of IT, such as Application
Development, Operations, Network Services and Systems Programmers.

·                     Assist computer Application Development, Operations,
Network Services, Systems Programmers and vendor customer engineers in the
resolution of system problems.

·                     Monitor performance of the databases.  Isolate,
correct and improve operational efficiency through changes to the software
packages or reconfiguration of hardware.

·                     Perform appropriate Change Management duties to
comply with IT policies and procedures.

·                     Perform appropriate Project Management duties to
comply with IT policies and procedures.

·                     Perform appropriate Problem Management duties to
comply with IT policies and procedures.

·                     Review security at database level and provide
recommendations for improvements.

·                     Report progress on a weekly basis of status on all
assigned work tasks in a written report.

·                     Provide 24X7 on call support and occasional weekend
onsite support.



*Minimum Qualifications*:

·                     Ten (10) years’ experience as Database Administrator
(DBA) on DB2 for z/OS.

·                     Experience with IBM’s DB2 for z/OS utilities.

·                     Experience with RACF.

·                     Experience with z/OS 1.13 or higher.

·                     Good communication skills.

·                     Good people skills.

·                     Proficient in Microsoft WORD, EXCEL and VISIO.



*Preferred Qualifications*:

·                     Experience with CA’s DB2 for z/OS utilities, such as
Log Analyzer, Plan Analyzer, Compare, Migrator, Query, Update and Detector.

·                     Experience with ASG’s TMON for DB2.

·                     Experience with IBM’s QMF.

·                     Experience with IBM’s DB2 Connect.

·                     Experience with DB2 LUW.

·                     Experience with RedHat Linux.

·                     Experience with multiple LPARs and shared DASD.

·                     Experience in large data center operations,
specifically change control processes and software migration.

·                     Strong understanding of IT operational processes and
familiarity with standards and trends in the industry relative to IT
processes and security.

·                     Advanced degree from an accredited college or
university.
