*Job Title* Software QA Tester *Project Location* Portland, OR *Duration* 12 months /Contract *Skills Required and Job Description:* Moi:Telephonic+Skype Summary Provide quality assurance support to the development, maintenance, or enhancement of application solutions through testing, problem analysis, and participation in system implementation. Analyzes requirements and creates test data to ensure new and revised systems meet user needs. Function as a QA member of project development teams and independently for minor modifications and support. Ensure tasks are completed on a timely basis and conform to specifications/processes and standardized best practices. Responsibilities Knowledge and experience in mobility testing with integrated Web and legacy systems. Experience in test automation development of mobile devices and software are a plus. Assist in coordinating testing scheduling, planning, status reporting and defect tracking. Perform QA testing per the test documentation including regression testing, system testing, white box testing, and black box testing. Update test documentation with information gathered during QA testing. Participate in the review and analysis of business requirements, functional specifications and design documents Participate in the design and testing of solutions for new applications and enhancements or modification to existing applications. Support business users during the execution of user acceptance testing. Collaborate with project team members on development and customer issues. Provide system and applications support to users including troubleshooting and issue resolution. Ensure repairs and changes are adequately tested. Participate in project post mortem facilitation. Provide 24/7 on-call rotational support of applications. Actively participates in continuous process improvement efforts. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in CS, MIS, or technical area generally preferred. Will accept any equivalent combination of education and experience. 4+ years of experience in IT solutions development including test execution preferably in medium to large systems environments. Experience with systems applications used in logistics and/or transportation management is desired. System knowledge may include UNIX, Oracle, PL/SQL, Java, C, C++, HTML, and the suite of Microsoft applications. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills in customer settings and with internal management. Well-developed active listening, facilitation and presentation skills. Solid knowledge of QA testing methodologies, concepts, processes, and documentation. Solid knowledge of IT software development life cycle. Knowledge of logistics and transportation management. Basic project management skills. Well-developed time management and prioritization skills. Demonstrated analytical capabilities. Exposure to writing automated test scripts. Ability to learn and understand functionality of multiple logistics-related systems. Ability to and work effectively with senior business and client contacts including ability to deliver unpopular messages. Ability to establish solid business relationships and work effectively in a dynamic team environment. Ability to communicate business needs to technical people and to communicate and simplify complex technical information for non-technical people.
