Requirements:* · Architect solutions to support growing business needs while thoroughly considering system impact and lead the deployment of database solution across multiple technologies. · Ability to functionally and practically decompose complex problems into simple and scalable solutions · Participate in analysis of gaps and recommend solutions based on database development direction and roadmap · Assess business impact of specific work request, new technologies, or strategies · Identify and address technical or operational risks and adhere to IT processes defined by management and ensure that developers and partners do the same · Develop a deep understanding of database systems, database integrations and database management, write technical specifications, review project deliverables, mentor and oversee assigned DBA’s, enforce database management best practices and compliance with standards, and plan implementation · Collaborate with developers, BI, and others within IT to understand full scope of necessary work, technical risks and nuances and determine appropriate solutions, development estimates and resources to be successful · Drive SDLC and DLM methodology by tracking the current task of the team members and escalating issues as needed · Collaborates with the project manager to develop detailed project plans and work breakdown structures for medium to large business unit projects · Collaborates with Operations team to communicate correctly and effectively, and assist in troubleshooting issues to ensure that database issues are resolved in timely manner increasing database system uptime · Collaborates with other Technical Leads and management team to ensure that overall solutions are clearly understood, are appropriate for the enterprise strategy and make best use of existing resources · Conduct design and code reviews with vendor teams and assume responsibility for acceptance of the solution prior to migrating into environment (when applicable) · Ensure that all teams members are following agreed to process and utilize necessary internal database management tools. *The Database Administrator performs:* · Installation, configuration and management of production, stage and development SQL server environment with multiple instances · Installation, configuration and Management of production SQL server clustered environments · Reviews of the database environment to identify consolidation of instances opportunities · Reviews of the database environment to identify virtualization opportunities · Definition of the business recovery processes in a virtualized environment · Identification of the process improvements via version upgrades, new tools or reengineering of existing solutions · Setup of the database systems and is responsible for operational efficiency · Implementation and verification of data protection processes · Monitoring transaction activities and assists in optimizing the performance and utilization of databases · Assisting vendors in improving application performance through index recommendations *·* *Developing, executing, and maintaining SSIS packages to support ETL solutions* *·* *Managing SSRS platforms to support reports being executed through Sharepoint / Web portals* · Steps to ensure the data is available and maximizing all database uptime · Building robust, configurable database applications that employ both PC and thin-client or web-based user-interfaces for both new applications and building on existing applications · Full technical documentation of the applications of database support environment · Establishing deadlines, and provided on-going communication of progress, in order to keep projects on track and on time *·* *Enforcement of SOX and PCI compliance for all database related projects or enhancements* · Respond to audit requests as it relates to the database environment · Periodic research and application of SQL patches on all database servers · Definition of maintenance plans to provide optimal performance of the transactional and job level workload across the database environment · Definition of security configuration and controls access across production, stage and development environments to support smooth migration of changes while maintaining integrity · Implementation and maintenance of data base management policies and procedures · Capacity and performance analysis to identify improvements of the database processing using SQL native and industry toolsets · Debug and trace analysis to identify improvements database processing using SQL native and industry toolsets · Assistance to the development team in new projects · Support to the development team researching system related issues. · Implementation and administration of department-wide SQL Server Data Bases · Role of technical consultant for the department's .NET developers · Execution of DDL and DLL related changes including the moving and dropping of databases, adding and changing SQL Server logins and users, updating data and creating and troubleshooting queries and stored procedures to assure correctness and performance *· Support of the development of a web based/AS400/Oracle access to SQL Server databases* · Assistance to the project leader and/or engagement manager to establish project quality standards, monitor project status and maintain project plans on schedule · Reporting of hours worked on a weekly basis · Demonstration of a high level of professionalism, in all dealings with business associates and clients · Maintaining high moral and ethical standards in all dealings with clients and business associates · Assisting in the development of standards and procedures affecting data maintenance and management · On call rotation for off hours support for scheduled changes and issue resolution · Must provide timely and accurate weekly status report updates with reliable information; · Must ensure timesheets are submitted and approved weekly before stated IT deadlines; · Must ensure software licenses, certifications, and subscriptions are properly renewed and do not expire; · Must ensure AMDB/CMDB or associated feeder systems are kept current and accurate with all DB inventory · Must strive to minimize system downtime and prevent unplanned or unscheduled outages; · *Must follow PCI-DSS, SOX, IT Security guidelines to ensure all systems stay in compliance;* · Must ensure all database software is properly patched and updated per manufacturer guidelines; · Must ensure all systems currently in use are backed-up and can be restored within SLO\SLA requirements; · Must ensure policies, procedures, diagrams, and other technical documentation is kept current and accessible; · Must ensure no changes are made to any system without an approved valid change request work order; · Must ensure all IT work orders are closed in a timely manner or updated regularly to explain why they are not
