*Job Description: *

*Role Summary:*
•As a primary UI leader you will help lead and grow the UX Design Center of
Excellence (UX COE), focusing on UI client-side and server-side software
development. Working with other UI design and development leads and UX
consulting partners, you will vet new innovations and incorporate latest
leading practices and technology approaches into our enterprise standards
and frameworks.
•You will partner with a variety of business and IT execution teams
throughout the company to lead the design and build of development of
highly usable web applications that promote superior user and client
experiences and implement approved UX design and the implementation
technical standards.
•Primary relationships will be with other UX and UI architects and members
of the IT Architecture team, with the COE Core team and Working Groups, the
UI Review Council teams, and a range of UX designers and web developers
throughout the Application Development (ADM) organizations, and Product and
Marketing leaders in multiple businesses in our Core and Solutions groups.

*Principal Responsibilities:*
•Lead the creation and evolution of our UI development standards and
practices, including developing the UI frameworks and technology standards
supporting the UX COE. Lead the UI Frameworks Working Group, facilitating
the creation of and nurturing communities of practice within and among the
various businesses within our company. Support the UI IT and business
liaisons who extend the UX COE into the wider organization.
•Support colleagues in IT, Product, and Marketing as a subject matter
expert on UI Development to improve our ability to meet key objectives
relating User Experience and meet the wider goals of the Client Experience
Transformation initiatives. Advocate UI development best practices and
staying ahead of the curve on front-end development technology. Develop
standards and promote right practices for integrating the front- and
back-ends to create fast time-to-market development, support the security,
performance and scalability needs of our businesses, and promote the most
efficient use of technical resources within the solutions.
•Lead UI design and development discussions around and advocate for
user-centered design to turn UXD into a core competence.
•Working with other UX and UI leaders, facilitate the specification of
UX/UI design and implementation standards and the implementation of those
standards into re-usable web frameworks, libraries and components.
•Support project teams to guide UX and UI design and execution as they
build new UIs and transform legacy UIs into world-class user and client
experiences, assuring that the information architecture and user journeys
reflect our business objectives, the clients’ needs, and the enterprise
architecture standards.
•Help to escalate and resolve architecture and other technical issues.
Document and communicate architecturally significant implementation details.
•Drive proofs of concept and lead the creation of reference architectures
that promote architecture direction and UX practice by proving that new UI
technologies and design patterns work effectively to meet the User
Experience, Client Experience, and other functional and non-functional
objectives.

*Knowledge:*
•Strong software engineering, application architecture, UI development
skills in JavaScript, CSS, other related technologies on distributed and/or
mainframe platforms.
•Strong knowledge of leading web-based technologies such as HTML, CSS,
JavaScript, XML, JSON, RESTful service APIs, and similar and related
technologies.
•Experience with leading UI development JS and CSS frameworks and libraries
such as AngularJS, ReactJS, jQuery, Bootstrap, and SASS.
•Strong knowledge of cloud-based design / development with an understanding
of the migration path
•Strong knowledge of user-centered design, interaction design, UI design,
and other areas of UX practice.
•Grounding in Agile, Lean, Kanban, Iterative software development, as well
as more traditional CMMI Waterfall project development methodologies.
•General knowledge of the Financial Services industry, especially
post-trade processing, clearance and settlement.
•Understanding of critical success factors for high uptime, high volume
transaction rate implementations, and how to design and tune UIs to achieve
optimal performance and capacity.

*Experience:*
•At least 8 years professional experience as a User Experience or UI
Architect
•Extensive experience developing and working with user interface design
patterns
•Extensive experience designing and building web applications using modern
web-development technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, JSON, RESTful
services, and core UI frameworks and libraries such as Bootstrap, Backbone,
AngularJS or ReactJS, and jQuery.
•Extensive experience interacting with business and other IT stakeholder as
a Web / User Experience expert
•Proven ability to understand business direction and business priorities as
well as technology issues.
•Proven ability to think at abstract, strategic levels and relate to
practical needs of software engineers. Analyze complex multi-dimensional
requirements and map to technical design and solution architectures.
•Experience in the financial industry is a major bonus; alternately the
candidate will need to demonstrate outstanding ability to learn our
business.
•Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to tailor
communication both to business and technical audiences as well as to
various roles and levels in the organization.

*Education, Training &/or Certification:*
•Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline preferred. Advanced Degree a
plus.
