The customer will not be identified until the consultant has gone through
the internal technical screening.





System Supply Chain office seeks a consultant for a PeopleSoft Strategic
Sourcing Consultant Lead,

meeting the qualifications as outlined in this request, to assist with
Functional Design, Configuration,

Build, Test, and Deployment of the PeopleSoft Finance Strategic Sourcing
module.

The University is currently using Purchasing, eProcurement, Supplier
Contracts, Accounts Payable,

General Ledger, Asset Management, and Travel and Expense modules from
PeopleSoft Financials

version 9.2. An implementation project for Strategic Sourcing module was
started while on version 9.0,

but the module was not fully implemented or utilized to its fullest after
the project completion.

The University is now prepared to re-implement the Strategic Sourcing
module to fully utilize the

functionality provided in version 9.2. The Strategic Sourcing consulting
lead will be responsible for

assisting UM System Supply Chain with the re-implementation project.

Duties of the consultant position include:

• Responsible for working with the University’s functional and technical
teams, DBAs and business

users on system requirement gathering, analysis, design and implementation
of 9.2 functionality

specific to the Strategic Sourcing module;

• Responsible for identification, documentation, and reporting of
identified project risks to project

management;

• Participates in and leads meetings between stakeholders, resources and
project leadership to

ensure the Strategic Sourcing solution is aligned with the overall project
goals and direction;

• Conducts and documents information gathering sessions with management and
staff.

• Responsible for consistent utilization of standardized processes and
forms to manage project

documentation, including but not limited to, Functional Design
Specifications, Risk

Management, Scope Documentation, Business Process Flows and other project
documents as

needed;

• Responsible for conducting Strategic Sourcing module Fit/Gap analysis and
accurately document

the requirements;

• Configures Strategic Sourcing module to meet the University’s business
requirements.

• Works with Subject Matter Experts (SME)/Business Owners and Project Team
to provide input to

project management, functional lead and others in the development of the
detailed Project

Schedule;

• Works with SME/Business owners to bridge currently manual business
processes to PeopleSoft

Strategic Sourcing 9.2 functionality.

• Works with SME/business owners and project team to minimize modification
of PeopleSoft

• Works with the University’s Functional Lead to mitigate risks and resolve
issues throughout

implementation as needed

• Completes tasks in an efficient and timely manner while keeping project
stakeholders informed

• Provides various administrative services and reports necessary to control
the project schedule,

scope, and quality

• Responsible for developing Functional Design Specification Documents and
any interface

mapping documents.

• Responsible for working with the technical team to ensure that design
specifications are clearly

understood prior to technical design and build;

• Works with the technical team to define and test any potential
customizations to the solution,

including reports, interfaces and functional enhancements of PeopleSoft
Strategic Sourcing

version 9.2;

• Performs and documents Strategic Sourcing module system and integration
testing.

The consultant should have a history of leading successful PeopleSoft
Strategic Sourcing

Implementations using project management best practices and possess
expertise in PeopleSoft

Strategic Sourcing 9.2, including delivered integrations with PeopleSoft
Supplier Contract Management

and Purchasing.

*Consultant Skills/Experience and Qualifications: **Minimum Requirement*

*Preferred Skills/Experiences:*

Proven project team building skills

Experience writing detailed Functional Design Specification Documents

Experience with Microsoft Suite (Projects, Visio, Excel, Word, Power Point)

Experience participating in PeopleSoft Financials implementation projects

Experience performing PeopleSoft System Test, Integration Test, and User
Acceptance Test

Experience conducting design sessions with subject matter experts and
business process owners to

meet business requirements with minimal customizations.

Experience implementing PeopleSoft Purchasing version 9.0 or higher,
including gathering business

requirements, conducting and documenting fit/gap sessions, and system
configuration.

Experience as a PeopleSoft functional module lead for PeopleSoft
implementation.

Experience in IT project planning, research, analysis and development

Experience writing and reviewing detailed test scripts for System,
Integration, and User Acceptance

Test Phases.

Experience designing, configuring, and testing PeopleSoft Approval Workflow
Engine (AWE)

workflow approvals, version 9.0 or higher.

Experience implementing PeopleSoft Strategic Sourcing version 9.0 or higher.

Experience gathering business requirements, conducting and documenting
fit/gap sessions, and

system configuration for PeopleSoft Strategic Sourcing module.

Experience with configuration documentation and review in PeopleSoft 9.2

Experience with PeopleSoft version 9.2 and PeopleTools 8.53

Communication, analytical and interpersonal skills at all levels of an
organization.

Experience with the PeopleSoft 9.2 Modules GL, AP, AM, PO, eProcurement,
Strategic Sourcing,

Supplier Contract Management

Higher Education experience

Ability to set and meet functional team deadlines while maintaining an even
disposition under

pressure

Experience working through development of Interfaces with Technical Team
through design, build

and test

Excellent teamwork skills, ability to collaborate with other functional and
technical staff on the

project.

Strong interpersonal skill and the ability to collaborate effectively on
diverse teams
