Must come out of Investment Bank working in trading area -This position is well-suited for a person who wishes to be involved with many different aspects of database administration which includes Oracle/Sybase/SQL Server Database Engineering, AIX/RedHat Linux Engineering, Storage Administration, UNIX scripting, job scheduling for all of the above. -This is a very hands-on position as the successful candidate will be supporting, maintaining and improving a number of automated jobs and scripts for the various databases in place. *Principal Responsibilities & Accountabilities:: *• Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of Oracle / Sybase / SQL Server databases used by the company. • Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime. o Responsible for production support – this may occasionally entail support during the overnight hours. o Responsible for problem escalation to the operations team and third parties as appropriate; o Work with the team to ensure that the associated hardware resources are optimally allocated to the databases and to ensure high availability and optimum performance. o Responsible for providing trend analysis to the production support, system administration and development teams to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management. o Responsible for liaising with 3rd party support vendors to ensure consistent out of hours support. o Duties include the implementation of technology in accordance with established and documented baselines, policies and procedures. Support numerous instances of Production, QA and Development Databases; o Control access permissions and privileges; o Developing, manage and test back-up and recovery plans; o Ensuring that storage, archiving, back-up and recovery procedures are functioning correctly; o Assist Development team with performance tuning of DB’s; o Monitor user access and security, work diligently with IT security Officer on all security features required on databases as security is a very important matter for the bank; o Manage the physical design of the database to meet system storage requirements; o Write documentation for QA and Operations; Work closely with IT project managers, database programmers and business analysts o Support Murex application on UNIX / Sybase environment and Oracle EBS application on Linux RedHat / Oracle environment – this may occasionally entail support during the overnight hours for night batch cycles; o Configure and Support End Of Day batch cycle scheduler. *Desired Skills and Experience::- *Competencies • Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of Oracle/Sybase/SQL Server databases used by the company. •Willing to learn new technical skills as needed •Willingness to learn and support new and legacy database platforms •Comfortable with being very hands on with hardware, operating systems, and storage o Experience with Oracle / E-Business Suite and/or Sybase / Murex o Experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration o Oracle / Sybase DBA skills (Install Oracle, create schemas, perform online backups, understand archive logs and redo logs) on a UNIX (e.g. Linux and/or Solaris) platform o A good understanding of DB performance tuning (DB normalization) o A good knowledge of Control M scheduler is a plus. *Regards, Rashmi Singh(Technical Resource Specialist)Ramy Infotech IncPhone: 408-317-9256 Ext-334 Fax : 408-273-6834Email: rashmi.si...@ramyinfotech.com <rashmi.si...@ramyinfotech.com>* Note: We are working with prime vendor (One Layer between) for this position. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Business_Intelligence" group.
