*Job Description::*

*What Project/Projects will the candidate be working on while on
assignment? *-Multiple application business projects and IT update
projects, also on building the target architecture for COMPAS. The team is
comprised of tech leads, delivery leads, architects and developers.
-Size of the team 30.

*What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position? *• Define
application architecture in consultation with management and developers
• Design high-level software modules and the interfaces between them
• Make recommendations about platform technology adoption, including
databases, application servers, libraries, and frameworks
• Write proof-of-concept code, as well as some low-level product code
• Perform technical due diligence on third-party products prior to
integration
• Ensure alignment of solutions with business and IT goals/objectives
• Assist IT project manager and delivery leads in setting schedules for new
technology adoption
• Follow information technology trends, keep current on new technologies
• Advise senior management on how products and processes can be improved
• Keep customers informed on future plans for platform adoption
• Help application developers to adopt new platforms through documentation,
training, and mentoring
• Demonstrate understanding of cross-functional/cross-domain requirements
and impact
• Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies/products/trends
related to architectural solutions
• Identify and quantify scope and impact of business changes on the
architecture
• Communicate solution options to business owners/stakeholders (e.g.
architecture reviews)
• Incorporate software and system architecture (e.g. infrastructure,
network) into conceptual designs
• Ensure alignment with enterprise technology standards (e.g. solution
patterns, application frameworks, technology roadmaps, capital plans)
• Identify gaps between established standards and proposed solutions, and
follow the exception/waiver process as needed
• Maintain awareness of current technology assets and the capability of
each
• Understand and adhere to Enterprise Architecture framework
• Understand all policies that are audited/governed and develop solutions
that adhere to them, support audit/governance activities as an Application
Architecture Subject Matter Expert, and develop remediation strategies as
recommended.

* What software tools/skills are needed to perform these daily
responsibilities? *• Minimum eight years commercial development experience
• Knowledge of data architecture principles, as well as multiple types of
database technology (document, relational, XML)
• Thorough understanding of web application architecture, including
application servers
• Thorough understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA) and
enterprise service bus (ESB) concepts, particularly those related to web
services
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Thorough understanding of software development processes and industry
best practices
• Thorough understanding of fundamental software engineering and computer
science principles: object-oriented design, structured design, algorithms,
data structures, usability, and configuration management
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience;
advanced degree a plus
• Strong technical and platform knowledge, including some or all of: Java /
JSE / JEE / JSF / Angular JS, Spring, Hibernate, Websphere and JBoss
Application Server, Oracle, XM L /XSL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, TCP /
IP,UNIX, HTTP, SOAP, REST protocols and supporting standards/frameworks
like JAX-WS, WSS4J, Jersey, Jackson/GSON
• Understanding of the Private Cloud deployment model
• Experience in architecting the High Availability Solution across all the
system boundaries

* What skills/attributes are nice to have? *• Understanding of Enterprise
Architecture tools and methodologies (BPM, rules engines, EA tools (i.e.
Abacus, EA Sparx, Alfabet), TOGAF)
• Experience in supporting systems architecture design, planning and
implementation
• Experience with SDLCs, preferably with non-waterfall industry
methodologies like AGILE, Rational Unified Process (RUP)
• Experience with modeling skills, including business, process,
requirements, applications, software, data, and technology
• Experience with strategic planning, portfolio management
• Knowledge of the healthcare industry
