*Job Title: Big Data Consultant* *Location: Boston, MA* *Duration: 6 Months* *JOB DESCRIPTION:* Working as part of a global team to work on a Data Lake (made up of Hadoop and GreenPlum). The candidate will work with Platform / Development and Customer teams to deliver advice and provide application development skills in order to ensure the success of various projects on the Data Lake. Experience with Big Data : Hadoop (HortonWorks distribution)/ HDFS / MapReduce / NoSQL A good understanding of how YARN runs jobs and the ability to advise on How / Where and When to process data. Experience with PIG / SPARK / HIVE / HBASE Must have a full understanding of the SDLC and experience with Maven / SVN / and build tools e.g. Jenkins / Archiva. A working understanding of Linux is necessary, we use the Bash shell. Proven experience of working at enterprise level, and a demonstrable understanding of what that means. Experience with Greenplum or similar MPP. An understanding of Agile methology, specifically SCRUM.
