*Sr. Network Engineer*
The ideal candidate will come from a large enterprise background with
experience working with Cisco Network and security products, including:
Routers, switches, ASA, PIX, FWSM, Load-balancing, Wireless, Palo Alto
Networks (a plus).

This person must have a strong understanding of Network security
architecture, design and implementation.

This person will be responsible for working on projects related to
implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, performance management,
capacity planning.
This is a one-year to two years position out of San Ramon, CA.


*Job skills and responsibilities: *1.    Seasoned Security Engineer and
Architect with at least five to seven years of experience.  Large
enterprise Experience in a Cisco environment.  Needs to know the Cisco
security/firewall product line, load-balancing, FWSM, ICE would be a nice
to have.

2.    Plans security systems by evaluating network and security
technologies; developing requirements for local area networks (LANs), wide
area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), routers, firewalls,
and related security and network devices; designs public key
infrastructures (PKIs), including use of certification authorities (CAs)
and digital signatures as well as hardware and software; adhering to
industry and PG&E standards.
3.    Implements security systems by specifying and equipment; directing
equipment and software installation and calibration; preparing preventive
and reactive measures; creating, transmitting, and maintaining keys;
providing technical support; completing documentation.
4.    Verifies security systems by developing and implementing test scripts.
5.    Maintains security by monitoring and ensuring compliance to PG&E and
industry standards, policies, and procedures; conducting incident response
analyses.
6.    Upgrades security systems by monitoring security environment;
identifying security gaps; evaluating and implementing enhancements.
7.    Prepares system security reports by collecting, analyzing, and
summarizing data and trends.
8.    Determines security requirements by evaluating business strategies
and requirements; researching information security standards; conducting
system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; studying
architecture/platform; identifying integration issues.
9.    Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging security
practices and standards; participating in educational opportunities;
reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks;
participating in professional organizations.
10.    Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting
ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring
opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
11.    Enhances security team accomplishments and competence by planning

15.    The work will be 90% firewall related (ASA, PIX, FWSM-Virtual Mode)
and this person must have strong troubleshooting firewall with the business
users and technical staff.
16.    Possible off hour work and some weekend work for implementation
projects.
17.    Installation and Configuration of Cisco routers (880, 2800, 2900,
3900, ASR1K and 9K)
18.    Experienced installing and configuring network interfaces, SPA, SFC
on Cisco routers
19.    Experienced installing and configuring Cisco Catalyst 2900, 3500,
3700, 4500, 6500, Nexus7K 5K, and 2K Switches
20.    Configuring VLANs, STP, VTP and Inter-VLAN routing in LAN environment
21.    Physical cabling, IP addressing, WAN configuration
22.    MPLS, Ethernet and service provider experience
23.    Upgrading the network by translating protocol like EIGRP to OSPF
24.    Used DHCP to automatically assign reusable IP addresses to DHCP
clients
25.    Usage of network sniffer like Wireshark
26.    Setup and maintenance of circuits
27.    Hands on experience with various Wireless technology and products
